This collection contains photographs, brochures, newspaper clippings, correspondence, and other material regarding the date palm industry and research efforts related to this plant species. Includes photographs of date palms in California, North Africa, and Iraq as well as photographs regarding the cultivation of palm varieties and palm diseases. Brochures and newspaper clippings documenting the date palm industry in the Coachella Valley (California) are also included. Additionally, this collection contains material pertaining to the United States Department of Agriculture Date Station, Walter T. Swingle, and Roy W. Nixon.
